Strengthening Trade Ties: UK Ambassador and Trade Delegation Visit Gapuma Serbia
30th May 2025 Gapuma Group was honoured to recently welcome His Excellency Edward Ferguson, British Ambassador to Serbia, along with Chris Barton CMG, UK Trade Commissioner for Europe, and Nikola Milivojević, Serbia Country Director for the Department for Business and Trade, to our facility in Žabalj, Serbia. Their visit to our 22,000-tonne grain silo and fertiliser distribution centre marked a significant moment in the development of UK–Serbia trade relations and underscored the strategic role of British enterprise in advancing international economic partnerships. Representing Gapuma were Group Managing Director Jack Bardakjian and Operations Director Stephen Harris, who offered insight into the group’s long-term vision for regional investment and infrastructure development. Their leadership has been central to translating our global ambitions into impactful, local projects across Europe. A particular highlight of the visit was the opportunity to showcase the work being done by Aron Mohacsi, Managing Director of Gapuma Serbia. Aron’s leadership, deep regional knowledge, and commitment to operational excellence have firmly positioned Gapuma as a trusted and sustainable partner within the Serbian agricultural and logistics sector. Discussions during the visit focused on the importance of cross-border collaboration, infrastructure resilience, and the role of private-sector innovation in sustainable growth. The visit validated Gapuma’s commitment to Serbia as a strategic hub within our European operations and highlighted our capacity to support global supply chains with local expertise. As Gapuma continues to expand its presence in Serbia and across Europe, we remain focused on fostering long-term relationships, sustainable development, and contributing meaningfully to the shared economic goals of our partners and host nations. We extend our sincere thanks to Ambassador Ferguson, Trade Commissioner Barton, and Director Milivojević for their visit and look forward to continued collaboration.
