A New Chapter in Ghana: Welcoming Shiko Ghosh as CEO of Gapuma Ghana Limited
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Shiko Ghosh as Chief Executive Officer of Gapuma Ghana Limited. Shiko steps into the role at an important moment for our operations in Ghana, a country woven into Gapuma’s story from the very beginning. He will work under Kishor Ubrani, who continues as Managing Director, and together they will lead the next chapter of our presence in one of West Africa’s most dynamic markets. To mark the occasion, we are sharing a short film – the first of three over the coming days – introducing Shiko and the vision he brings to the role. Welcome aboard, Shiko. We are glad to have you with us.
Where Mountains Do the Teaching
17th April 2026 This Sunday, two of our own set off on a journey worth celebrating. Stephen Harris, Group Operations Director, and Shahab Mossavat, Communications Adviser, will be representing Gapuma Group as Employee Ambassadors on an Outward Bound course at Ogwen Cottage – joining West London Free School students when they arrive on Monday. For Stephen, this will be his sixth time as an Ambassador – a remarkable commitment by any measure. He has taken on Outward Bound Trust centres at Aberdyfi in North Wales, Ullswater in the Lake District, and now returns to Ogwen. From five days outdoors during the Beast from the East to wet mountain walks, his philosophy is straightforward: be prepared and embrace the challenge. But for Shahab, this is a particularly special return. Back in 2013, when Gapuma Group first began its collaboration with The Outward Bound Trust, he was one of the very first ambassadors to step forward. Thirteen years on, he heads back – this time to the mountains of Snowdonia – his journey coming full circle. Ogwen Cottage sits at the foot of the spectacular Glyderau mountains in Eryri (Snowdonia), where every day brings something new and each challenge builds confidence, teamwork and self-awareness. That is precisely why we support the work of The Outward Bound Trust – because those qualities matter, and they matter especially for young people who deserve every opportunity to discover them. Stephen, Shahab – we wish you clear skies, good boots, and an adventure to remember. You are what Gapuma Group is all about.

Father and Son Finish the EDP Lisbon Marathon Together
26th October 2025 Gapuma is proud to celebrate the achievement of our Group Managing Director, Jack Bardakjian, and his son, Alexander Bardakjian, who completed the EDP Lisbon Marathon together on Sunday, 26th October 2025. “98% humidity… 21°C — it was a tough run. We finished together in a very respectable 4 hours 24 minutes.”— Jack Bardakjian, Group Managing Director, Gapuma Group Their accomplishment is a testament to perseverance, resilience, and shared endeavour — qualities that resonate deeply with Gapuma’s own values of commitment and togetherness. Strengthening Ties in West Africa: A Strategic Visit to Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana
22nd July 2025 Gapuma Group Managing Director, Jack Bardakjian, recently completed a high-level visit to two of our key West African markets — Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana — accompanied by our Senior Biofuels Trader, Rafael Fraletti. The visit reaffirmed our long-standing commitment to building sustainable partnerships, supporting local infrastructure, and reinforcing operational excellence in the region. As our global portfolio evolves in line with the energy transition, West Africa is playing an increasingly vital role in our biofuels and logistics strategy. With Rafael based in Gapuma’s Swiss Office — the nerve centre of our biofuels operation — this mission combined executive leadership with commercial expertise on the ground. From strategic meetings with clients to warehouse visits in Abidjan and Accra, the trip served to deepen relationships, assess new opportunities, and ensure our growth remains aligned with local realities and regional ambitions. These in-person engagements also reflect Gapuma’s operational philosophy: that reliability in global supply chains is built not just on trade routes and systems, but on trust, presence, and long-term commitment. By maintaining close contact with partners across West Africa, we continue to enhance the resilience of our operations — from Geneva to Ghana, and every step in between. As the world shifts toward cleaner, more responsible energy sources, Gapuma remains at the forefront of ethical trading and sustainable innovation. This visit marks another meaningful milestone in our shared journey toward a smarter, more inclusive global energy future.
Gapuma’s Raj Thakkar Steps Forward in Chesham
15 April 2025 Gapuma is proud to support the community-focused efforts of Raj Thakkar, our highly-esteemed colleague and a Chesham resident for the past five years. Known for his dedication to supporting local initiatives and small businesses, Raj has consistently demonstrated a passion for enhancing the place he calls home. In a natural extension of his commitment to civic life, Raj is now standing as a candidate in the upcoming Chesham Town Council election, set to take place on 1st May. His decision reflects a desire to play a more active role in the development and wellbeing of his local area. Raj’s approach centres on collaboration, inclusivity, and practical support for community-led initiatives. While his candidacy is a personal venture, we applaud his spirit of service and the values of leadership and engagement that align with Gapuma’s broader ethos of responsible global citizenship. We wish Raj all the best in this new chapter of local involvement. Image: Joseph Baum
