Gapuma

The communities we build shape all our lives.

At Gapuma we have always taken the view that we are only better and stronger if those around us are happier, better educated and more prosperous.

To us ESG and CSR are not merely part of the virtue-signalling alphabet soup of modern society, they have been a fundamental part of the way we work, from our inception 25 years ago.

Environment

We recognise that both natural ecosystems and human environments shape the world around us. Being a responsible company means not only avoiding harm but actively seeking to create a positive impact in the communities where we operate. This ethos guides our approach across all areas of our business, including our ISCC-certified biofuels operations.

Social

Gapuma is a proactive but apolitical organisation. It is not our concern, who holds the reins of power, simply that the society we are part of is better for us being in it.

We apply this same test to ourselves irrespective of where that is. We feel affiliation and loyalty to our people, and not just flags.

Come and meet our people and see the differences we make.

Governance

Being in business requires an adaptable approach. However the one area, we will never compromise on or be flexible about is governance.

A rules-based world is the only one in which sustainable progress is possible. Gapuma has always proposed and supported a strict adherence to the letter and the spirit of anti-bribery and anti-corruption legislation. But also self-governance and the highest ethical and best business practice through constant auditing and ISO standardisation. So, when you work with us, you can be sure that we have already taken care to be equitable in our transactions.

Let’s talk together about how much better good business is.

Corporate Social Responsibility:
As an organisation, Gapuma seeks to be a functional part of the local communities and the global society to which it belongs.

We do not believe in immodestly trumpeting our contributions to bodies, which are mundanely but incorrectly labelled charities.

However, we do believe that by talking about our interactions with service organisations such as the Outward Bound Trust, with whom we have been partners for more than a decade, we help encourage ourselves and others to do more to shape those communities and that society into something more compassionate and therefore somewhere more productive.

This year as part of our 25th Anniversary celebrations, we are proud to announce the Gapuma Inward Bound Apprenticeship (GIBA).

The programme has been designed in conjunction with our partners at Outward Bound, which will provide a fully-funded training apprenticeship for a young Outward Bound Graduate aged 17-24 to join Gapuma and acquire the professional skills we can provide, as well as the formal external training they require to forge a career in commerce.

All information on GIBA and how to apply can be found here.
